Describes a temporary set of symptoms due to ischaemia in the posterior circulation of the brain
Aetiology
- Caused by narrowing of the posterior circulation arteries, most commonly due to arteriosclerosis
Clinical presentation
- Causes vertigo on looking up
- For diagnosis of VBI need other symptoms of impaired circulation in posterior brain associated with the vertigo
- Visual disturbance
- Weakness
- Numbness
